05/08/2009 - Indian Wells, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Skins Game, a Thanksgiving Silly Season tradition, has been cancelled for 2009.

According to a story published in The Desert Sun, the event, to be played at Indian Wells Golf Resort, was cancelled due to low ratings and the poor economy.

"The event has been cancelled," Barry Frank, Executive Vice President, IMG Media confirmed to The Sportsbook Betting Lines.

The story in The Desert Sun said that organizers are working to try and secure money and sponsorship to bring the event back to the 2010 schedule.
